A business is like a plant

A business is like a plant; with the right amount of sunlight and water, it will grow into something beautiful. - Unkown

This quote means a lot to me because I found it years ago online, and I read it so often that I think about it nearly every day. It applies to everything in your life, whether it be business, relationships, friendships, relationships with your pets.

If you take good care of your friendships, they’ll continue to get better and better over time, but if you do not give them what they need, then they’ll die. People who have pets and put in a lot of time training them and loving them and develope a bond have a much better relationship with their pets than people who do nothing.

Marriages and connections are the same. It took me a long time to learn this lesson, but it has proven to be one of the greatest things I’ve learned. Now when I start working on anything, I evaluate how much effort and energy it is going to need from me to succeed, and then I decide on whether or not to pursue it.

In Ultimate Team Products, every single part of our business reflects the amount of energy, effort, and time we’ve put in. If something is struggling, it is generally because it isn’t getting enough TLC, and we quickly assess the situation and do our best to allocate more time to it. If we think it is worth it and if we realize it is no longer necessary, then we remove all time and put that energy and effort into something else.

Start today by looking at your relationship with your parents, boyfriend/girlfriend, and so on and ask yourself a straightforward question - how can I put in more effort into this particular relationship? The minute you start making time for people, you will be amazed at how much better your life becomes instantly.

Look at all of your activities and evaluate which ones you’d like to see better results in? Is it a math class? Is it the ACT or SAT? Either way, decide to put in the effort and time, and you’ll see that particular thing in your life blossom in a way you never thought possible.
